Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common questions about research peptide quality, ordering, storage, and compliance — from a US peptide supplier.
General
What are research peptides?
Research peptides are short chains of amino acids synthesized for in-vitro and in-vivo laboratory research. They are used by qualified researchers to study receptor pharmacology, signaling pathways, and biological responses in cell-culture and animal-model studies. Research peptides are not pharmaceuticals and are not for human or veterinary therapeutic use.
Are these peptides for human use?
No. All Superior Amino Compounds products are sold strictly for laboratory research use only. Our peptides are not approved by the FDA for human or veterinary use, are not pharmaceuticals, and are not intended as drugs, food, cosmetics, or any commercial product. Sale is restricted to qualified researchers 21+.
What does ">99% purity" mean?
Greater than 99% purity is measured by reverse-phase HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography), the standard analytical method for peptide purity assessment. It means more than 99% of the material in the vial corresponds to the target peptide sequence, with less than 1% related impurities such as truncated sequences or aggregation products.
Do you provide Certificates of Analysis (COAs)?
Yes. Every lot we ship has a third-party Certificate of Analysis available on request. The COA includes RP-HPLC purity, mass-spectrometry identity verification, and LAL endotoxin testing. Email contact@superioramino.com.com with your order number to request a COA.
Where are your peptides manufactured?
Our research peptides are synthesized in the United States by contract synthesis partners operating under cGMP-aligned standards. Lyophilization, fill, and final packaging are also performed domestically. Every shipment ships from a US facility.
Are you FDA approved?
No, and we do not represent ourselves as such. Our products are research chemicals — not pharmaceuticals — and are not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or commercial use. The FDA does not approve research chemicals; it approves drugs intended for therapeutic use, which we do not sell.
How are peptides synthesized?
The vast majority of our research peptides are produced by solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), typically using Fmoc chemistry. Each amino acid is sequentially coupled to a growing chain anchored to a solid resin. After full assembly, the peptide is cleaved, purified by RP-HPLC, lyophilized, and verified by mass spectrometry against theoretical molecular weight.
What is HPLC testing?
HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) is the analytical gold standard for peptide purity assessment. Reverse-phase HPLC separates peptide-related species by hydrophobicity, generating a chromatogram where the area of the main peak relative to total peak area gives the purity percentage. We use RP-HPLC plus mass spectrometry for identity confirmation.
Ordering & Shipping
How do I place an order?
Browse the catalog, add products to your cart, and check out via Snipcart (powered by Stripe). At checkout you will be required to confirm you are a qualified researcher 21+ before the order completes. Orders are typically processed within 24 business hours of payment confirmation.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within the United States only. International orders are evaluated case-by-case for established research accounts — contact us for details. We comply with all applicable export and customs regulations.
How is my order packaged?
All orders ship in discreet, unmarked outer packaging with no exterior product references. Lyophilized vials are packaged in protective foam inserts within insulated mailers. Climate-aware packaging is used during warm-weather months to maintain product integrity in transit.
How long does shipping take?
Domestic orders are typically delivered in 2–4 business days from dispatch via USPS Priority or UPS Ground. Express options are available at checkout. You will receive a tracking number once your order is in transit.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
Yes. We offer volume tiers at 50, 100, 250, and 500 vials with significant per-vial discounts at each breakpoint. Submit a wholesale application at /bulk to receive your distributor pricing sheet within one business day.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). For wholesale accounts, we also offer Net-30 payment terms after the initial order cycle is complete.
What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of research chemicals, all sales are final once the product has shipped. If your order arrives damaged, contains an incorrect product, or fails identity verification against our COA, contact us within 7 days of delivery for a replacement or store credit.
Storage & Handling
How should I store research peptides?
Lyophilized peptides should be stored at -20°C for long-term stability. Short-term storage at 2–8°C (refrigerated) is acceptable for active inventory. Keep vials sealed and protected from moisture and light. Once reconstituted, store the solution at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe indicated by lot stability data — typically 14–28 days for most peptides.
What's the shelf life?
Properly stored at -20°C, the majority of our lyophilized peptides have a shelf life of 24 months from the manufacture date printed on the COA. Some peptides have shorter or longer stability profiles — refer to lot-specific stability data for exact figures. Reconstituted solutions are typically stable refrigerated for 14–28 days.
How do I reconstitute lyophilized peptides?
A typical research-grade reconstitution protocol: bring the vial to room temperature, add bacteriostatic water (or sterile water for short-term assays) to the desired concentration using a sterile syringe directed against the side of the vial — not directly onto the powder. Swirl gently to dissolve. Do not shake. Use sterile technique throughout and store the reconstituted solution at 2–8°C.
What is bacteriostatic water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits microbial growth, allowing repeated entries into a multi-dose vial without contamination. It is the standard reconstitution vehicle for the majority of research peptides. We stock bacteriostatic water in our Supplies category.
Compliance & Eligibility
Is buying research peptides legal?
In the United States, research peptides may be sold as research chemicals — not as drugs or supplements — to qualified researchers for laboratory use. We do not sell controlled substances. Different states and countries have varying regulations, and the buyer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local laws. Our products are explicitly not for human use.
Who can buy from you?
Our products are sold to qualified researchers, research institutions, contract research organizations, and authorized resellers/distributors. Every purchaser must be 21 years of age or older and must confirm at checkout that the products will be used strictly for laboratory research, not for human or veterinary use.
What is your age requirement?
21 years of age or older. This is enforced via mandatory checkout confirmation. Any order with falsified age information will be cancelled.
Do you require a research license?
For standard catalog orders we require purchaser certification of qualified-researcher status at checkout. For wholesale accounts and certain restricted compounds, we may request additional documentation including business verification, institutional affiliation, or evidence of research operation.
Can I use these for personal experiments?
No. Our products are sold for institutional and laboratory research use only. They are not intended for personal experimentation, human consumption, athletic performance, or any non-research application. Buyers misrepresenting their intent are in violation of our terms of sale.
